A drilling rig is used to perforate 6 to 12 inch boreholes for the construction of groundwater monitoring wells. During well construction, the introduction of contaminants is minimized through the use of inert materials. Several wells located around a potential water-pollution source yields data suitable for flow, solute transport modeling, and the design of remediation strategies.
